465. GIS APPLICATIONS (3). Using GIS as a decision tool; spatial modeling; data structure and management issues; legal issues; case studies; application projects. Prerequisites: SUR 362. |
Detailed Description |
This course follows SUR362. It extends the MPLIS principles that were covered in SUR 362 to larger geographic areas and extends the scope to other applications besides MPLIS. Just like SUR 362, this course is lab oriented. The analytical capabilities of GIS/LIS are investigated in detail. Wider range of spatial data types are modeled and analyzed. In this regard, different spatial data models are investigated. Procedures for developing an Enterprise GIS are covered as well as legal liability and copyright issues. |
